What does it mean?

This shared history of happiness and hurts?

This differing memory of the same events?

The many repairs of little rents

in socks and souls and skirts?

What do we glean

off of each other

that no one else can see?

  1. My sister gave me the gift of, “the love of music.” She never knew the impact her record collection had on me until I told her forty years later. She smiled then wept, but briefly and warm.

  2. Thank you both. I wanted to write about what its like to have a sister, specifically my sister, who I adore. But i couldn’t think of anything apart form questions. It is very hard to delineate what it actually is between us.
